It’s 10am on Tuesday, the opening day of Art Basel, and I’m talking to Robert Landau, a “grand doyen” of the fair. In an hour’s time, the doors will open and the world’s elite art buyers will rampage through the booths, looking for their next pieces. It’s drizzling and I wonder how often billionaires stand in line for anything, especially in the rain.
